New Graphs
One of the main aims that Mtracking has is to make Web Analytics data easier to interpret and understand.
As part of this effort, over the last week the Mtracking portal has been updated with improved graphs and charts. These are more interactive with the key metrics chart on the Traffic Summary page being a prime example. Now you can edit the display of the graph by clicking on either visits, visitors or page views. It is also possible to drag and zoom in to see a time period in closer detail.
There is no need for you to change anything on your account to see these graphs but if you do run into problems please contact support@mtracking.com or phone 0207 017 2325.

Visitor Profile
A new reporting page has been added to the visitors section of the Mtracking portal which offers a brief text round-up of key information about the behaviour of visitors to your site. Quickly read about the most popular visitor environment, visitor country, the number of visits and frequency visitors make those visits. Read about the top performing campaign and/or search engine and search term used. All from reading one short piece of text!
Each piece of information links through to the relevant portal reporting page, allowing you to quickly delve into data about your website and discover more insight.

Subdomain Check
Mtracking are constantly working to improve the cleanliness of the web anlalytics data that is displayed in the customer portal. As part of this a new option has been implemented when domains are added to your account.
Why is this useful? If force subdomain is selected for a domain all incoming traffic from the tracked domain will be prepended with 'www.'. This is useful for aggregating traffic from domains that have a number of aliases.
For example, your site might be accessible from both http://www.domain.com and http://domain.com, these domains will be tracked as seperate entities by default, but if you set force subdomain to true, then http://domain.com will be tracked as http://www.domain.com.
Another example would be when your site is listed on search engines and/or used in campaign links as http://www.domain.com. All of this traffic will be collated under the www. domain, but if visitors are regularly arriving at your site directly, typing just domain.com into their browser, the force subdomain option can be used to ensure that this traffic is collected and metrics are calculated together across all visit sources.
